Raid Invites and Start Time:
The raid start time is the time that the raid is buffed and ready for the first pull. Members who know in advance that they are going to be on at the last minute should leave a note on their Unsign Page (more details below) with the time they will be on. The timetable for a raid is as follows:~
» 15 minutes prior to raid start:
- Invites will go out.
- Members should be online and at the instance.
- Replacements will be found for anyone who is not online unless they gave prior notice.
» Raid start:
- Zoned in, buffed and ready for the first pull.
Raid Addons / Application requirements:
Members are expected to use our Ventrilo server and have the required raid addons installed and enabled. They are:
Ventrilo (http://www.ventrilo.com/download.php)
Deadly Boss Mods - Raid Warnings (www.deadlybossmods.com)
You may also be interested in other addons such as:
Recount (Damage Meter) (www.curse.com)
Raid Length:
A scheduled raid will last approx 3 hours. Members are expected to be there for the entire raid. Raids that are at their max raid time will be ended by the raid leader and resumed at an agreed upon start date.
If there is a reason that you can't stay for the whole raid and you are aware of this prior to the raid, then you should add this information to your personal thread prior to the raid. If an emergency comes up then you must let the raid leader know ASAP.
Raid Chat and Vent:
Please do not spam the raid channel with damage meters or other automated information. The raid channel is needed for raid-related communication.
Vent should be kept clear of chatter during explanations of pulls or boss fights.
Raid Ettiquette:
Everyone is welcome to offer input via whispers to the Raid Leaders, just remember to appreciate that Raid Leaders will be busy and not every idea will get processed right away.
Do NOT go AFK without letting the Raid Leader know, or you may be subject to loot exclusion for the remainder of the raid. Breaks will be called throughout the raid when appropriate.
Loot rules:
In SoL we work under the premise that everyone in the group has contributed to each kill and as such we operate a simple roll system with rank priority (as per our ranks page). This simplifies loot distribution, is unbiased and as such is more efficient.
The order of rank priority is as follows:
1. Officers and Raiders (officers do not get special loot priviliges over raiders except with regards to patterns as per the ranks page)
2. Members
3. Trials
Everyone who needs an item will roll on the item, and the item will be given to the person with the highest rank and roll.
Exceptions - The officers present have the right to ignore the rolls and distribute the loot to whoever they see fit. If an item is a bigger upgrade for another Raider, or one raider has received several upgrades in a row the Officers have the right to use their discretion and distribute the loot fairly.
Most of the loot rules are according to the the Guild ranks, trials can be or not be higher on loot prio than Raiders offspec (officers discretion). Officers have the right to ignore the loot rules on special occasions such as Legendaries, and possible other special occasions where we feel loot counciling an item is much more beneficial to the guild and raids.
Legendary Items
Legendary items will be handed out by a vote of the officers. The vote will be determined by a number of factors: Rank, dedication, attendance and history within the guild. Chances are, if you've ever seriously quit the guild in the past then you are completely inelligible for Legendaries.
Patterns / Enchants / Orbs
The distribution of these is at the sole discretion of the officers present.
Patterns and Enchantment drops will be handed out based on many factors, including but not limited to rank, activity levels, raid attendance, length of time with the guild and general attitude. The purpose is to keep these items in the guild for the benefit of all, so this loot distribution allows us to ensure that these items have the best chance of staying in the guild.
Attendance
Every member of each group is expected to attend every raid, and as such we emply an UNSIGN system.
Every member of the group is automatically accepted for each raid, and if they are unable to attand a raid they need to create a thread on the personal thread forum to let their group know.
Personal Thread forum: http://www.sonsofliches.com/forums/guild-only-forums/personal-threads
My personal thread to give an example of format (Non-public access): http://www.sonsofliches.com/forums/guild-only-forums/personal-threads/994483-gotmilk
You need to create a new thread and use your Main raiding character's name as the subject. Once you have created your personal thread once, you will simply reply to this thread each time you are going to be late / not attend, so that your team can be informed.
24 hours notice or more is desirable, but the thread must be made prior to the raid start time. If your notification is made too close to raid start time for the officers to arrange a replacement you may still be eligible for loot exclusion at the officer's discretion.
Penalties
In 10 man raiding attendance is extremely important to progress, and as such we penalise people for pulling no shows. If you do not show up for a scheduled raid, and you have not posted in your personal thread then you will not be prioritised for loot on the next raid. Each raid missed (without prior notification) may result in loot exclusion.
Note: There are very limited circumstances in life that are so important that you can't take 2-3 mins to post a message on the forum to let your team know you will not be able to raid. With that in mind, regardless of the excuses given following your return you will be subject to the loot exclusion. This punishment is present to punish those that let the team down, so whilst I'm sure everyone can think of an excuse elaborate enough to try and bypass loot exclusion, please don't waste your time or ours.
MISC rules:
Trial Members: This is the rank at which you have to prove your worth to the guild. You have no priviliges, access to guild bank tabs or anything of that nature. As a trial, you do not get priority on raid spots and will need to prove yourself in order to make a raid team. Usually you will not be promoted before you have attended at least 5 raids in an appropriately short period of time. (3 raids over 1 month months would not warrant a promotion for example, whereas 5 raids in a row probably would provided you performed well). This is completely at officer discretion, and you will be promoted when you are eligible, not before.
Raider: Once promoted to Raider you'll gain the ability to get items from the Guild Bank and will also have priority on raid spots over trials.
All shards / consumables from DE'd greens / epics go to the guild bank
NOTE: THESE RULES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE AND IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO UNDERSTAND THEM AND KEEP UP TO DATE WITH THEM.
