Now that we're finally getting a handle on our recruitment issues thanks to our new realm, I'm now working on the next phase of guild growth and am opening the doors to social rank players.
Social ranks in a guild has it's major pro's and con's, and as long as we approach it carefully we can easily protect ourselves from the negative impact bad social's can have on the guild and it's reputation. We also need to embrace the positive impact that a larger, more vibrant community has on guild morale and the whole gaming experience outside of raids. It's very important to me that guild members from social rank to raider rank have options outside of raids, and have people they can do PvP, achievements, alt runs with etc.
I have removed the redundant "member" rank, and have created the new "Social" rank, which is the new default when invited to the guild. Our ranks page has been updated with the following:
Social
- Member does not necessarily have any prior affiliation with the guild - Member is not eligible for progression raids, unless promoted to trial through the application system. - Any proven anti-social or negative behaviour will result in an immediate guild kick and ban from future invites to the guild.
In the future I can see the guild expanding into PvP for interested parties (most notably RBG's), to cater for a wider audience and allow SoL to offer more to the realm. There is also the opportunity of supporting another raiding team, and whilst the option of 25 man raiding is certainly a reality on Kazzak, it's not something I aspire this guild to support in any way at this stage or in the foreseeable future (just to clear that up from the outset).
Each social that joins is directed to the website to view our rules and regulations, so that they are aware of what is expected of them in terms of conduct. Social ranks are expected to uphold our rules and behave in a way that meets our expectations.
I have begun the process of recruiting for the new Social rank position, so hopefully as the coming weeks and months pass, we will have an even more friendly, vibrant and active community than we do currently. Any ideas from members on how we can further improve the guild and our outside-of-raid activities, would be welcomed. Please inbox me any ideas, and we can discuss.

And since 25man is not an option for most of us, since it's such a drag, then adding socials will give us the ability to do 25man alt raids with guildies. That's always nice.
You shud throw a party!!! Thats an event for people to turn up to i will come to that one lols, the idea is we all drink shots at home then gather in a pretty place in wow get the chars drunken too and then hunt for critters!
